On Wednesday, December 1, 2010, following the ban on Darvon and Darvocet in the United States, the manufacture of Davon in Canada, Paladin Labs, Inc., announced that it was recalling propoxyephene and discontinuing sale of the drug. In consultation with Health Canada, the company cited studies that indicate that even at recommended does, the drug can cause serious heart arrhythmia.
