Dec. 1, 2010: Lowes Recalls 11 Million Roman Blinds and Shades
On December 1, 2010, Lowes joined the recall initiated by the Consumer Products Safety Commission ("CPSC") in December 2009 by recalling 5 million roman roll-up blinds and 6 million shades. The commissioner of the CPSC indicated that the recall was initiated after two reports of children nearly being strangled by these dangerous products. Consumer should immediately stop using the blinds and contact the Window Covering Safety Council by calling 1-800-506-4636 or visiting its website , where they can get a free repair kit.
