Nov. 11, 2010: Hanover Direct, Inc. Recalls Roman Blinds

In the ongoing parade of recalls of dangerous roman blinds, today the CPSC in cooperation with Hanover Direct, Inc. of Weehawken, New Jersey, issued a recall of 523,500 roman shade and roll-up blinds sold by the company after the CPSC received another report of a child that was strangled by a pull cord. The 22 month old child was found hanging from a pull cord by his father and was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved. Consumers are being told to immediately stop using these dangerous products and to contact the Window Covering Safety Counsel for a free repair kit.
